Matt Rhodes Give his prediction for Chase vs. Johnny!
Let me begin in saying , that there is many Rasslin events taking place on Christmas, and I'm not going to take any shots at anyone, but I do want to state a few facts!! Wrestling is a form of entertainment to some, and a sport to others (including myself), but no one can top the product placed in the ring that NWA Smoky Mountain sends out with every match from Bell-to-Bell. It's great to see Hall of Famers and former world champions, but those guys are NOT the future of this industry. Speaking of the future of this industry. The future of wrestling in theMountain Empire squares off face-to-face in Rogersville, TN this Tuesday (Christmas Night)... Unless you are a idiot, you know that I'm talking about Chase Owens vs Johnny Knieval for the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship.
I normally don’t give my opinion on who I think will win or lose because I'm a member of the office staff and I keep my opinions to myself due to the position I hold within the National Wrestling Alliance... But I couldn't help myself this time.
Johnny K is a wonderful young, talented and hungry athlete. He is a major part of why wrestling has been so popular in Rogersville, TN for the last half decade, and that’s something he should be proud of! Johnny has overcame so many odds to have such a young career... Odds many veterans can't overcome. To say that he has been on fire over the past two months and that he has momentium going into this match are both huge understatements... He has been the NWA Southern TV Champion since August and has defended that title against some of the best young athletes in the sport. Last month, he became the final PWF Heavyweight Champion...
As you're reading this you can probably guess who my pick is for Tuesday (and without long dramatic pauses) I announce right here, that I think the winner will be CHASE OWENS. Oh no... I hit you with a good ole swerve and that wasn't my intentions. I just wanted to acknowledge Johnny’s accomplishments over the past few years... But let me say it like this, Chase is in a league all his own and as much as I personally root for Johnny K’s success in this sport, he stands no chance against Chase Owens. As hot as Johnny has been recently, Chase has been 10 times hotter.
2012 has been "The year of Chase Owens"... From wrestling Ryback on WWE Friday Night Smackdown to picking up a victory in a TNA ring... From beating some of the best wrestlers in the world to winning the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship... This year he has been seemingly unstoppable.
I hope to see a hard hitting fight this Tuesday because I know Chase will bring the fight... but can Johnny do the same? Prove me wrong kid, I'll be the first to shake your hand if you do.
My advice to Johnny is this - No matter what... Go and give it your all and command respect. Becuase If you don't, you are going to be in for a loooonnnnngggg Christmas Night in Rogersville... I know Johnny has his legion of fans of the young and high spirited kind, and that’s great. He will need everyone of them if he is to stand a chance against Owens at Christmas Chaos this Tuesday at the Rogersville National Guard Armory (108 Frontage Rd.)
I challenge any and all who love and support good wrestling and good young talent with a bright future to come and join us, trust me you receive every pennies worth.
Merry Christmas!!
