NWA Smoky Mountain News for Dec. 12, 2012

- A wild scene enused this past weekend on NWA Smoky Mountain TV. Air America (Skylar Kruze & Gavin Darring) were scheduled to get their shot at the NWA Tennessee Tag Team Titles against the champions, Josh Crawford & Johnny Knieval. However, Kruze & Darring were jumped by the Illuminati (Tony Givens & Chris Richards)... Givens & Richards challenged Crawford & Knieval to a title match immediately, despite already having a title match signed for this coming Friday in Mount Carmel, TN. NWA Commissioner, John Moorehouse was getting ready to suspend the Illuminati, but Crawford asked him to make the match... The match shortly broke into a wild brawl and ended in a double count out... This crazy scene can be seen on this week's episode of NWA Smoky Mountain TV.

- Commissioner Moorehouse made the following rulings in the aftermath on this week's TV program: The NWA Tennessee Title match between the Illuminati and Crawford & Knieval this Friday in Mount Carmel at the Morgan Memorial will go on as scheduled. Moorehouse has informed NWA Smoky Mountain referees to use "relaxed rules" in this match, as he has stated "There must be a winner".

Moorehouse also announced that the winners of this Friday's Tag Team Title Match will defend against Air America on Christmas Night in Rogersville, TN... Darring and Kruze earned their shot at the title and they will get that shot on December 25.

- Also on this week's TV program, Alex Avgerinos made an impressive NWA Smoky Mountain debut against fellow newcomer, "Wonder Boy" Elliot Russell... Avgerinos may be new the Mountain Empire, but he has tangled with many of the NWA Smoky Mountain stars in the past, including Jeff Connelly.

- Coming up this Friday in Mount Carmel, our most important event of the year: The 3rd Annual Morgan Memorial. All proceeds from ticket sales at the event go to the American Cancer Society in the name of Chris Morgan. Chris was a friend of many of the NWA Smoky Mountain stars. He passed away of brain cancer in 2009.

This event is headlined by 3 NWA Title Matches... We have already talked about the NWA Tennessee Tag Team Title match with Josh Crawford & Johnny Knieval defending against The Illuminati... Also the NWA Smoky Mountain Title will be on the line as Jason Kincaid puts his 14 month reign as champion on the line against Zac Vincent. These 2 men competed in a classic match in Rogersville. TN back on October 12.

In the main event of the evening, NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion, Chase Owens will defend his title against his long time rival, Sigmon. Earlier this year Sigmon defeated Chase in the finals of the NWA Smoky Mountain Cup Tournament. He then went on to defeat Chase, for not only the NWA Mid Atlantic Junior Heavyweight Title, but the NWA Mountain Empire Title as well... Now Sigmon claims that he lit a fire under Chase all year long, becuase he knew that Chase would eventually bring the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title to him. Will Sigmon's ultimate plan come to fruition this Friday?

- DVD fans, both "All or Nothing" and "Thanksgiving Thunder" DVDs will be out later this week and will be available at this weekend's event.

- Coming up this weekend on NWA Smoky Mountain TV, Skylar Kruzes gets another shot at NWA gold as he takes on Chase Owens for the NWA Mountain Empire Title. This will be Chase's first defense of the Mountain Empire title since becoming NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion. Chase believes he can defend both titles against all challengers. We will find out if that is the case this Saturday on TV.
